New to hockey
My daughter has never played. Can she join?
Yes. Most programs run Learn to Skate and learn-to-play sessions. Find a program near you on the Teams page and use "Join this team" to reach them. Nobody expects a new player to arrive ready.
Parents & players
What age group does my daughter play in?
Age groups follow USA Hockey birth years: 08U/10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 19U. Players can't play down an age group. Younger players can sometimes play up with Board approval.
